Routine...what routine?

It's official, we are back from France and all routine has completely left the building. In fact, the kids seem to have left the building as well! We had a lovely time as ever, very relaxing, lots of sunshine, swimming and family time. For the first time as we headed home though we agreed that maybe it is time to do something different. We love going there but I would like to try somewhere new so that there is some motivation to get out and explore. Glenn would like somewhere with better beds so he gets a decent night's sleep. The kids just want to be assured of enough for us to do for them to be left in peace, and of course it must have wifi! I've suggested Cornwall and we have found what looks to be a really nice location / complex with a great selection of holiday homes, some with hot tubs. This immediately got raised up to the 'essential' list along with the wifi. If only it was that easy to please everyone! Anyway, we've booked and we will try it next yea

France!

Ah, we are in France and it’s as lovely as ever. This place just seems timeless. While one or two buildings have had a make over every year, and a new shop may have sprung up or gone away, the basics here are absolutely the same it seems year in year. That is except the prices which seem to go up exponentially every year! This year we drove down in one go, something we always do on th way back but never normally on the way down. It went without a hitch and we arrived late afternoon feeeling a bit stiff but able to jump in the pool and freshen up to start the holiday more quickly than normal. I saw it was easy, of course I didn’t drive but that’s Glenn’s fault - he won’t let me! The weather has been fab (apparently it’s only just warmed up properly, unlike home where it’s  been hot forever it seems) and we’ve swum, biked, walked and generally relaxed with no dramas. The girls love being here so it really is very easy. As Abi says - pool, sunbathe, iPad or read, eat, repeat! My o

Revolving doors!

This weekend has mostly been about trying to work out who needs dropping off  / picking up next - its been a constant revolving door of one in and then one out. It has made for a busy if peaceful weekend given one or other of them has been somewhere pretty much all the time. It basically went like this: Eloise and REmma back after school on Friday while Izzy went to Amber's. Saturday Abi went off to town with Issy and Eleni came over to see our Izzy. Eleni's couple of hours turned into a sleep over (of course), Abi came home. Sunday morning Abi has a party so we all go to Basingstoke and she goes one way while Izzy and Eleni go another. I gather them all up to come home, dropping Eleni in a layby on the way (to her parents) and immediately Abi calls Olivia and I'm required to drop her over there. She comes home at 7:30pm and basically its a quick catch up before they both head upstairs to bed. All this in 30+ degrees - we are melting! As Abi got into bed tonight she sai
